Haugur was created in 1990 and has since become one of the most productive salmon flies in Icelandic rivers. It has also delivered results abroad, earning a strong reputation among anglers. For many, it’s a favourite. Simple — but deadly.
Materials
- Hook: Any suitable salmon hook
- Thread: Fire Orange
- Tail: Black Arctic Runner or sparse bucktail with two strands of electric blue crystal flash
- Body: Pearl floss
- Hackle / Throat: Kingfisher blue hen
