Fox Fly
A highly effective fly and one of my personal favorites. It has consistently delivered results, especially as the evening light fades. Fox Fly excels in darker conditions, particularly when tied with a deep red tag. Tied with a yellow tag, it becomes a strong option for brighter conditions. A must-have in any fly box—especially when fishing the Laxá in Aðaldalur.
Materials
- Hook: Any suitable black hook
- Thread: Black
- Tag: Oval silver with burgundy red floss
- Tail: Golden pheasant topping
- Rib: Medium oval silver
- Body: Black floss
- Hackle / Throat: Black hen
- Wing: American grey fox
