A strong start to the season in Tungulækur, with high catch rates, excellent action, and one fly dominating the numbers.

Fishing in Tungulækur is off to an exceptional start this season. With only half a month gone, a total of 597 sea trout have already been landed — marking a 32% increase compared to the same period last year. Catch-and-release rates are also high, with 97% of fish safely returned.
The current group on the river is enjoying outstanding action, with plenty of fish and great energy along the banks. Among those fishing now are Höskuldur Birkir Erlingsson (known as “Hösski Lögga”) and his team.
What stands out in particular is the performance of the fly Green Dum, which has accounted for an impressive 35.9% of the total catch so far — a remarkable share by any standard.
