Tungufljót opened on April 1st under tough conditions. Ice drift and strong winds made fishing difficult, and expectations were low.
Still, the opening group managed to land 8 sea trout — a solid result considering the circumstances.
But then things changed.
The second group hit much better conditions and experienced excellent fishing, landing 45 sea trout, including several beautiful fish. Water levels are now rising, and everything points toward improving conditions in the days ahead.
Early season fishing can always be unpredictable, but this is exactly how quickly things can turn.
